In July 2014 Chiswick Town Hall was granted a licence to conduct civil ceremonies. The iconic Grade II listed building dates back to 1874, and is nestled in the heart of beautiful Chiswick.
The building accommodates four stunning rooms within which couples can host their wedding ceremony and/or reception. In order to showcase the rooms for such special celebrations, we were asked to create a fabulous design brief and then set about recruiting an amazing team of wedding suppliers to style and dress the venue.
The styled shoot took place in October and I was thrilled to bring together such a great team of suppliers to create this styled shoot, which included Matthew Bishop Photography, the award winning Pumpkin Events, Signature Flowers by Emma Newman, Friend of Faux, Ginny&I andThe Pretty Cake Company.
The venue is beautiful with many original features, so whilst keeping in mind current trends in colours and styling, we were also keen to highlight the venue’s intricate and captivating historical areas.
The Main Hall was styled in a gold and pink colour theme, depicting opulence and on-trend glamour. Using elaborate centrepieces and beautiful crockery and cutlery, floral arrangements adorning the candelabras, handmade stationery, a fantastic faux floral table runner and 5-tier cake focal point, the room was transformed into a beautiful evening reception setting.
The Council Chamber, which is suitable for ceremonies and small receptions is already a stunning space with many intricate features to catch the eye.
Using the beautiful pastel colouring of the stained glass window panes, we used this palette to create what is currently a very popular theme for weddings. Pastel chair hoods were used to highlight the colour throughout the room, and we created a fabulous focal point under the archway using faux flower garlands for the mantelpiece and wedding couple chairs.
The treats table at the back of the room continued the pastel theme with delicious cakes, fun signage, a gorgeous sequin table cloth and sweetie jars filled with treats.
The third room of the styled shoot was the Hogarth Room, depicting a ‘boats theme’ as a nod towards Chiswick’s iconic location in the Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race. With hand crafted nautical themed table planner and stationery, boat shaped floral arrangements created using large pea pods, and blue and hessian tableware, the room was developed into an alternative reception style with long tables and a fabulous bar focal point on the stage created by Yamas! Bar Hire.
One of the most beautiful spaces within the Town Hall is the fabulous marble staircase and mantelpiece, which was adorned with a huge floral garland created and fitted by Friend of Faux. The staircase looked absolutely stunning with the garland and would make a great area for bridal photographs.
We had a great day setting up this styled shoot and it was an absolute pleasure for me to have the opportunity to work with a group of highly skilled professionals as these; some of whom I have worked alongside previously, and others that I was thrilled to have the opportunity to meet and see their work unfold!
